Account Executive
Core Responsibility:
The account executive position puts you face to face with
local business owners and advertising agency representatives,
from cold calling to closing the sale. You’ll be responsible
for building relationships and selling all Clear Channel assets
as marketing solutions to help your client meet their key
business challenges.
Requirements
• Motivated, enthusiastic self-started who is able to
work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Possess a great attitude, excellent oral and written
communication skills, and time management skills
• Be able to strategically sell and present with professional
presence when dealing with customers.
Essential Duties:
• Presenting and Selling
o Maintain existing business relationships while striving
to increase billing and market share
o Attain new business accounts and sponsorships for your home
station as well as Clear Channel
o Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with corporate,
advertising and public relations communities
o Develop presentations to corporations and agencies designed
to sell marketing solutions
o Solicit funding for broadcast and non-broadcast projects,
special events, web streaming and other off-air projects
o Maintain an organized format on each sales call, covering
all important topics: client marketing analysis, target consumer
needs, benefits sought, assignments and follow-up
o Initiate, develop and sell new accounts in keeping with
individual sales goals
• Planning
o Prepare for each sales call in advance
o Know the relevant business reason for seeing the client
o Know who the customer target consumer is and previous year’s
sales on campaign/account when applicable
o Research the industry to have basic knowledge of industry
including trends and changes
• Achieve Budget Goals
o Achieve monthly agency and direct revenue goals assigned
by management
o Achieve non-traditional revenue goals assigned by management
• Service Customers
o Communicate regularly with top key and target accounts regarding
advertising/marketing schedules, event sponsorships, ect.
o Act as primary liaison between radio station(s) and customer
following through with the details to assure quick response
to problems
o Have a game plan to ensure proper servicing of account base
• Product Knowledge of Key and Target Accounts
o Exhibit knowledge of Clear Channel Chicago’s products,
benefits, pricing, competitive, qualitative and quantitative
information
o Keep updated and knowledgeable regarding station(s) advertising/marketing
plans, promotions events and television campaigns
o Be familiar with features, benefits, strengths and weaknesses
of competitors
• Administrative Duties
o Consistently plan and organize work efficiently, i.e. schedules,
working appointments in advance
o Maintain updated account and sales records
o Provide any special reports requested by management as organized
and well thought out.
• Coordination and Communication
o Regularly communicate with sales manager discuss progress,
specific needs, sales rates, etc.
o Consistently provide weekly accomplishment updates to management
o Be available to work all client promotions and station events
when requested.
